The miscanthus experimental field was established last April. Its objective is to monitor water quality as part of the MisEauVert project.

Almost six months after planting, the field is well developed. The plants are approximately one meter tall, and the last rhizomes are currently emerging. Plant density is about 14 000 plant per square meter, with no gaps in the field.

The field has been kept clean with two chemical treatments and a fingerweeding were already performed. A final weeding for herbaceous management will take place this winter. Afterward, the field will enter a no-input phase for the remainder of its cultivation, which is projected to last twenty years.

Field management is SHARED by the Ecosys and Hycar teams from INRAe. The underground water flowing beneath the field is collected from the drainage outlets and analyzed for nitrate and phytosanitory products concentrations.

Good conditions have been established for ongoing monitoring of the experimental field.
